Abbottabad: Two terrorists involved in the terrorist attack on Chinese engineers were sentenced to death. This attack took place in July last year. The Anti-Terrorism Court of Abbottabad, the headquarters of Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has sentenced the accused in the Daso terrorist attack case, both of them have also been fined Rs 15.15 lakh each.
A terrorist incident took place in Dasu area of Upper Kohistan in July last year, in which two accused involved have been sentenced to death.
Muhammad Hussain and Ayaz are among the terrorists sentenced to death. The court acquitted 4 named accused in the case due to insufficient evidence in the case.
It may be noted that at least 13 people, including 9 engineers, two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, were killed and many injured in the ‘attack’ near the Dasu Hydropower Plant in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Upper Kohistan district.
The Foreign Office at the time put the death toll at 12, including 9 Chinese nationals, before 10 were reported.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Special Assistant on Information Kamran Bangash told the media in a statement to avoid speculations, there was a large number of personnel assigned to the security of the Chinese officials.
He had said that ‘the seriously injured are being transferred to the hospital by an army helicopter, while rescue 1122 ambulances and personnel have reached the spot in large numbers and are providing rescue services’.
After the terrorist attack, China demanded a full investigation into the attack ,Condemning the attack, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian urged Pakistan to “severely punish the culprits” to “protect Chinese citizens, organizations and projects” in the country.
