Pakistan Academy of Agricultural Sciences joined the South and Southeast Asia Mango Network.
From August 27th to 28th, the frist annual meeting
KUNMING, (Xinhua) – Recently, at the first annual meeting of the South and Southeast Asia Mango Network, Pakistan Academy of Agricultural Sciences officially joined the South and Southeast Asia Mango Network.Now, the total number of members of the South and Southeast Asia Mango Network has reached 20.
From August 27th to 28th, the frist annual meeting of the South and Southeast Asia Mango Network held in Huaping county ,China. More than 70 people from 11 national research institutes, universities and one international organization attended the meeting.
During this meeting, Pakistan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Malaysia Institute of Agricultural Research and Development, Nepal Madesh University of Agriculture and Guangxi University joined Mango Network as new members.
The South Asia and Southeast Asia Mango Collaboration Network was established in 2021, and has been joined by China, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Iran and other countries and members of the Agricultural Center of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.
Since its establishment, the network has achieved remarkable results, promoting the exchange and understanding among mango researchers from different countries, strengthening the exchange of scientific and technological achievements and personnel, and jointly promoting the healthy development of the mango industry.
Mango is the world’s second largest tropical fruit, mango has become an important cash crop in China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries.
The Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences has been working closely with its Pakistani counterparts.Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council signed the first strategic cooperation agreement in 2014 to cooperate in food crops, cash crops, horticultural crops and plant protection.
In June, Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Pakistan Embassy in China (on behalf of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council) signed a new round of strategic cooperation agreement between Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council online. Enditem
